Born and raised in Southern Ontario, I spent my childhood outside exploring nature and playing a wide variety of competitive sports including baseball, football, golf and hockey. I come from an entrepreneurial family with a very strong work ethic, and was raised to look for ways to work and make money. From doing yard work for my neighbour at age 8, to learning how to cook at a 5-star restaurant as a teenager, to putting up drywall as a university student, I know and appreciate the value of hard work.
After completing my undergraduate degree at Ryerson University in Toronto, my future wife and I made the decision to leave everything behind and start our adventure out West. We landed in beautiful Nanaimo and have never looked back! It was here that I realized that what I truly loved was working with my hands and running my own company: MDG Painting. I thoroughly enjoy a number of hands-on trades in addition to painting, something that enables me to tackle projects with an eye for the “big picture” in regards to whatever your job may be.
My vision for MDG Painting is simple: high quality workmanship and an excellent customer-service experience throughout. Focusing on these principles served me well throughout every stage of my career and has now become the central goal of my own business.
